Natalia Alonso has become acting director of Amnesty International’s EU office, replacing Dick Oosting. Alonso, who before joining Amnesty International worked for the European Commission’s delegations in India and in the Dominican Republic, continues to oversee the organisation’s work on economic, social and cultural rights, and business relations at EU level.
Glenn Vaughan has been appointed executive director of the British Chamber of Commerce, replacing Sara Murray, who joined The Conference Board last month. Before joining the British Chamber of Commerce, Vaughan, a British national, was managing director of the Wales European Centre in Brussels.
Natacha Rajakovic has been appointed communication and public affairs manager of the Fédération des Experts Comptables Européens (FEE). She previously worked as a freelance journalist and as a diplomat for Croatia in Paris, Zagreb and Strasbourg.
The Association of Commercial Television has appointed Simona Popa as policy adviser and Utta Tuttlies as head of communications. Popa has previously worked for consultancies Waggener Edstrom and Weber Shandwick, while Tuttlies was associate director at Hering Schuppener Consulting in Frankfurt.
Morten Thoroe has become secretary-general of the Confederation of European Forest Owners, replacing Birte Schmetjen, who left the organisation in November 2007.
Alexander Natz has been appointed representative of German pharmaceuticals lobby Bundesverband der Pharmazeutischen Industrie in Brussels. He previously worked for Bonn law firm Sträter.
